Every observation in our archive is marked Confirmed, Monitoring, or Candidate. Confirmed means the finding has been independently cross-checked, either by a second node or against an established catalog. Monitoring means we’re still gathering data. Candidate means a single observation exists and hasn’t been checked yet.
We don’t quietly upgrade an entry’s status without the cross-check actually happening, even when we’re fairly confident — the label is only useful if it means something consistent.
