    Close-Approach Confirmation, 2024 QJ-Class Candidate

Type: Near-Earth Object Location: Cross-node confirmation (2 sites) Magnitude: 19.4 Date: 2024-05-21 Status: Confirmed Observer: R. Iyer

A faint moving object flagged by one node’s automated detection script was confirmed independently by a second node two nights later, establishing enough of an orbital arc to submit the candidate to the wider minor-planet reporting network for an official designation.

This is roughly what most of our near-earth object work actually looks like: not a dramatic last-minute discovery, but a faint, easily-missed object that only becomes useful data once two independent observers confirm the same trajectory.
